Bren Bonniere

Lesbian artist creating LGBT+ art for LGBT+ people!

About Bren bonniere

I'm Bren, a freelance narrative artist and illustrator with a passion for creating queer stories through my artwork. I graduated from Massart in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in illustration and minor in creative writing. I'm currently working towards publishing my own independent comics, creating queer community projects, and crafting sketchbooks and stickers for my Etsy store.
My dream is to create stories about LGBT+ characters told from the perspective of an LGBT+ person for an LGBT+ audience. While I am constantly striving for inclusivity in my own work, I am also working towards creating communities and platforms for likeminded queer artists to share their LGBT+ artwork along with me. For more information about my work in the queer community, please see my Gay Agenda!

Commissions

.
If you're interested in commissioning me, please either DM me on Twitter, Instagram, or Ko-fi or email me [email protected]!
.
Please read my terms of service before commissioning! You will need to agree to it before accepting my services.
.
Terms of Service
- These commission rates are for personal use only, not commercial use. To commission me for commercial use, licensing fees and signed contracts must be negotiated.
- Payments are accepted through Paypal or Ko-fi. Please send at least 50% of the commission cost up front before I start drawing, and pay the rest after the preliminary sketch is approved. I will not start drawing the final rendition until after receiving the full amount.
- I will send you updates on the piece as I go. The number of updates varies per piece, but typically after the preliminary sketch, I will send at least one update per drawing stage (lineart, flat colors, simple shading, complex shading, etc)
- Within reason, I will offer as many edits to my preliminary sketches as are necessary to come to an agreement on how the final rendition should look. Once I've started drawing the final rendition, I will offer up to three changes per update on the final piece. More changes than that may result in an additional fee, which will be agreed upon depending on the circumstances.
- A timeline will be negotiated before any art is drawn. Generally I will try to send you your finished piece within a week, but larger, more complex pieces or multi drawing projects such as a comic may take up to a month or two depending on the situation. I'll keep you updated through the entire process. There will most-likely be no change in schedule unless requested by the commissioner, but rushing our agreed timeline may result in an additional fee.
- A rush fee of 25% of the initial commission cost will be applied to works that must be completed in under 72 hours, unless negotiated and agreed upon by both parties.
- Once I've started working on your commission, I will not offer a refund. If I'm for any reason unable to finish a commission after starting, a partial refund will be applied depending on how much has been completed. A 100% refund will be applied if I am unable to start the commission after accepting it.
- You may post my commission online, but please credit me / link back to me in some way and don't remove my signatures!
- Do not commission me for NFT work, or turn my artwork into NFTs. Please do your research on the environmental impact on NFTs and the harm they do to both our world and our art communities.
- I reserve the rights to each of my drawings to do with as I want, such as posting on my social medias or featuring in my portfolio.
- I reserve the right to decline any commission as I see fit, or to cease working on a commission if necessary. I also reserve the right to edit my terms of service as necessary on a case by case basis.

PINK X PUNK

Pink x Punk is an upcoming romantic comedy webcomic about Natalie, a flirty femme, who gets caught up in an ongoing conflict between her girlfriend Danika, the punk butch leader of the lesbian gang Pink x Punk, and her ex girlfriend, the leader of their rival motorcycle gang.
As a lesbian artist myself, my goal is to create a WLW narrative that is relatable to and appeals to LGBT+ people. Please enjoy my promotional and concept art in the meantime!

CUTE ANIMAL STICKERS

Though I primarily illustrate human characters and narratives, I also enjoy drawing cute little animals to use as designs for stickers, charms, and maybe more in the future! If you like these crittters, you can purchase them on my etsy!

BREN'S GAY AGENDA

As an independent queer artist, having a strong and supportive community to rely on can be pivotal to your success in the industry. That's why paving the pathway for myself and other queer artists to find and interact with each other is so important to me in my work.
Bren's Gay Agenda is an ongoing project in which I strive to create spaces, conversations, and communities to uplift, showcase, and provide inspiration to fellow queer artists through zines, art challenges, and more.

Punk is Gay
Punk is Gay is an alt fashion WLW charity zine I created, organized, and published in 2021 alongside 45+ queer artists in support of BAGLY, the Boston Alliance of LGBTQ+ Youth, and their COVID-19 emergency relief fund. The zine was published digitally and later printed in a limited run.

Art Challeges: LGBTober + Pride Palettes
In 2020, the popular annual art challenge Inktober fell from fame after allegations of art theft and racism arose from its creator. While the drama surrounding Inktober did not so drastically affect corporations or larger artists, it became a very heated topic in smaller artist communities. No one wanted to skip their art challenge traditions, especially when that exposure in social media could potentially boost their career. And so, I started creating my own art challenges, LGBTober and Pride Palettes, to aid the queer community in finding new and exciting art challenges to showcase their skills, focusing on exploring color use rather than black and white drawings.
#LGBTober on Twitter#PridePalettes on TwitterSince their creation in 2020, hundreds of pieces of art have been created or inspired by my guidelines.
Visit #LGBTober or #PridePalettes on your preferred social media platform to see some of what our community has created, or check out the challenges' dedicated twitter accounts.
